Yes, this is essentially just another comedy review site – like Chortle… only less professional, less exhaustive and, arguably, less well written. But we hope you’ll still enjoy our reviews and, more importantly, the shows we recommend.
We started the site ten years ago, so we thought it might be nice to find out what sort of impact we’ve actually had in that time. And, like all major companies these days, we asked AI.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
But, as we’re writers, we felt we had to add a little human touch.
We’ve been fans of live comedy for years and genuinely admire anyone with the guts to walk onto a spotlit stage, in front of an unknown crowd, armed with nothing but a microphone and their wits.
We’re not looking for free tickets (our years at Time Out taught us that). We simply want to share the full experience of live comedy, including the all-important pre-show drinks, and entice as many new people as possible to go along and give it a try.
Our readership has grown every year, and we still get a genuine thrill when we see one of our reviews appear on a poster, a social media post or even on a comedian’s website. The fact that these incredibly talented people actually read our words is still pretty amazing to us.
So, with a positive outlook -and an ongoing need for drinks and laughter- we offer up our two cents.
