So, yes, this is another comedy review site (like Chortle… only less professional, exhaustive or well written) but these are just my opinions so hardly deserve gospel status. I have been watching live comedy for around 15 years and I have to say that I 100% admire anyone who has the guts to take to a spot lit stage in front of an unknown crowd armed with just a microphone and their wits. Tommy Tiernan: Tommedian (2024)

A few weeks ago, I was watching some reruns of Derry Girls with a good friend when she made the following remark: "I love the dad in this, he's hilarious. Do you know if he's been in anything else?" To... Continue Reading →

Mixed Bill: Stephen Carlin @ AComedy (2024)

As the train pulled out of Liverpool Street Station, I found myself asking why I was heading out to a makeshift comedy club in darkest Essex on a Thursday night… and, in fairness, it was a solid question. The answer... Continue Reading →

Sean Hughes: Thirty Somehow (recorded 1995)

A couple of months ago, we were at the Bloomsbury Theatre waiting for our show to be called. During this time, I usually wander through the internal corridors of the venue, admiring the old posters of stand-up shows past—Julian Clary's... Continue Reading →

Juliette Burton: No Brainer (2024)

The weather experts had predicted rain on this day in Brighton, so obviously, we were sat outside in the courtyard at the Twisted Lemon, thoroughly enjoying our drinks in the early evening sun. The cocktails at this hidden gem of... Continue Reading →
